A survey by Santander suggests that the rising cost of living and financial concerns are making Britain a less romantic country.
People in relationships are cutting back on the amount they spend on their partners by an average of 20%, spending a cumulative £8 billion less overall. 22% of those surveyed were looking for cheaper dating alternatives and 16% said they were buying fewer gifts.
Furthermore, 2% of people said they had been put off being in a relationship because of the financial cost involved.
